💕Love your patterns so much 💕I have already explored the bumblebee🐝, flamingo 🦩, pigeon 🐦, lazy duck 🦆, the rubber duck 🐤, and now the fish 🐟 .
I really love the easy-to follow illustrated instructions that uses text, images and video to ensure the best possible guiding to make these wonderful and adorable little creatures 🥰
I love that the patterns are built up by different techniques and give a good range of beadingskills. I already started exploring personal tweaks on my beaded creatures.
I’ve only gotten hold of Toho-beads (size 11/0 and 9/0) in the store where I live, and the final results when following the patterns have been very satisfying even if the size differ.
💕
this was my first pattern beading something. Its super easy to follow with detailed instructions and very helpfull video's. Super happy with my results and i will definately be buying more patterns here.
This was my first ever beaded project and I’ve made five flowers so far! I started experimenting with different colors and ombré effects and I’m having so much fun!
Really easy to follow along for beginners. Made my first fish today and I can’t be happier with this lil bundle of joy.
This was such a fun project! I have never done beading like this before. I was able to learn the different steps and complete it start to finish in an afternoon. Thank you for a neat project and I want to make some more!
Easy to follow and quick once you get the hang of it! I’ve made 6 tulips in the past 24 hours and it’s been fun and relaxing!
Genial. Es súper fácil de hacer, tiene videos por si se nos complica. Chicas de España : ningún problema con la compra
I loved following this pattern! The one difficulty I had was with getting the first two rows to line up correctly. I had to start over because it was so hard to get the right tension. The comments on the video tutorial helped and I eventually figured it out by taping down the thread instead of using a bigger stopper bead. I have a cute blue and gold fish named Kendrick now! Thank you so much!
I absolutely love this pattern! 🐝 The instructions are so clear and easy to follow, making the whole process really enjoyable. The finished bee turned out absolutely adorable, and I’m so happy with the result. I can’t wait to make more of your patterns, they’re all so beautiful!
I am sure plenty of people have said this already, but this pattern is so well written anyone can learn to make this fish. I have little to no experience making beaded items, especially 3 dimensional ones and I managed to follow this pattern with no trouble. Any issues I experienced while making my fish were my own error. I literally bought this pattern and within hours understood the basics enough to make the first part of my fish. I messed up a bunch because I wasn't paying attention, but by the end, I made something good enough to continue to the next part. 100% would recommend to anyone interested in learning to make beaded animals.
I've never seen such cute patterns before! I fell in love at first sight! The instructions are very detailed and clear, and the author took great care in creating them! Thank you so much, everything turned out perfectly and quite quickly, and I really enjoyed it!
It was my first time making anything like this. I definitely struggled a little butbit was worth it! I love my little duck!
This was my first beading project, and it went great! My first ghost was a bit chonky as I wasn’t quite sure how much tension to use yet or how early the dome should start forming rather than remaining flat but, my second attempt looked much closer to the pictures! This pattern is very much perfect for beginners or a first project, all the supplies were easy to get via local/indie bead shops, and looks so cute all my friends and family were gushing about how cute these ghosts are! I can’t wait to purchase more patterns. 👻
FAQs
Is this bead crochet?
No, it's not bead crochet. My designs are made using a mix of different bead weaving techniques like peyote, circular beading, and brick stitch and sometimes even a few of my own methods.
Each pattern includes step-by-step illustrated instructions so you can easily follow along and recreate the piece.
Do you provide video tutorials with the patterns?
All of my patterns come as PDFs with detailed step-by-step illustrations and some of them, including the beaded fish, come with supplementary video tutorials. The videos are linked directly on the PDF pattern.
They’re designed to be as clear and easy to follow as possible.
Where do you find your supplies?
Here's a link to most of the supplies I use in my beading projects.
Some Miyuki 11/0 colors are not available there and need to be sourced on pandahall.com or at your local craft stores.
What beads do you use?
I mostly work with Miyuki Rocailles Seed Beads (not Delicas) in size 11/0, usually in transparent or luster finishes. These beads have a beautiful light reflection and a soft shine that make each piece sparkle just right ✨
Other brands like Toho also work great, as long as the rocailles beads are very uniform in size and shape.
What thread do you use?
I use Miyuki 330 dtex 100% nylon thread.
Here are a few great alternatives I also like:
- KO (made by Miyuki) or One-G (by Toho)
- Nymo
- FireLine or DuraThread
Whatever you choose, make sure the thread is thin enough to pass through your beads several times and strong enough not to fray easily.
What beading needle do you use?
I use Miyuki Beading Needles (0.35x51mm) but any standard beading needles do the job!
Which pattern should I start with as a beginner?
I recommend starting with the Beaded Fish or Mini Fish pattern. These include detailed step‑by‑step instructions and several supplementary videos that walk you through the basic stitches used in my other beading patterns, so they are a very beginner‑friendly introduction.
Can I sell the creations I make with your patterns?
Yes, absolutely, you can sell the finished pieces you make using my patterns.
All I ask is that you don’t resell, redistribute, or share the patterns themselves (including screenshots or copies), and please credit the design to me if someone asks where it’s from 🌸
Is mindofjulia the same person as handsofjulia?
Yes, it’s the same person: me, Julia. ☀️mindofjulia is the name I use for my educational content, and handsofjulia is the name I use for my handcrafts and beading patterns. I’m gradually moving all handcraft‑related things under the handsofjulia name so it’s easier to recognize my shop and patterns.
